Griffin

Griffin made of polymer clay.

Continuing to use found stones as base for a variety of creatures. This particular slab of quarts I have found at Devil's Nest rockformation which is located in the forests of Hollola, Finland. It dates back to Ice Age. (Facinating, isn't it..? )

Anyways, resting griffin here. I haven't made any griffins before so this was very interesting. The tallons turned out trickyer than I expected. And I was a bit sceptical about the wings at first but they turned out fine. It is made in a bit of a hurry, so there isn't that much detailes. Or atleast the wings aren't as detailed as they would probably have been, if I had had more time to work on this. Painted with acryllics.

Really happy with it. The eyes aren't really bird's eyes, I still have to work on that. But otherwise, jay!
I have another slab of rock like this. I don't know if I'll make another griffin to pair this or something else on it. Probably the griffin, they would look good together. But I'll try different pose and color.

Size: 13 cm long, 9 cm high and 7 cm wide.
